1. What Silver Longevity Is

Silver Longevity Business Association is a membership-based professional community that connects businesses and professionals who serve aging adults and their families in Alberta, Canada. We provide a member directory, referral tools, a community board, a resource library, events, and related services through our website.

2. Accepting These Terms

By creating an account, purchasing a membership, or using any part of our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

3. Eligibility

Our membership services are intended for professionals and organizations that serve aging adults and their families. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

Our public services (such as the member directory, resource library, Find Help form, and event listings) are available to anyone.

4. Member Accounts

When you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and directory listing, and to update this information as needed to keep it accurate.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, provide false information, or engage in conduct harmful to the community.

5. Membership and Fees

Silver Longevity offers multiple membership tiers with different features and pricing. Current membership options and pricing are listed on our Join page.

Membership fees are billed annually unless otherwise stated. Fees are non-refundable except at our discretion.

We reserve the right to change membership pricing with 30 days' notice to existing members. Price changes apply at the next renewal period, not during an active membership term.

Free (Community) memberships may be modified or discontinued with reasonable notice.

6. Member Directory Listings

By creating a directory listing, you grant Silver Longevity permission to display your business information on our website as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the accuracy of your listing content. Your listing must not contain false or misleading information, offensive or discriminatory content, spam or unsolicited advertising unrelated to your services, or content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.

We reserve the right to edit, unpublish, or remove listings that violate these guidelines.

7. Referrals and Introductions

Silver Longevity provides tools to facilitate referrals and introductions between members. These tools are provided as a convenience.

Silver Longevity does not guarantee the quality, reliability, or suitability of any member, their services, or any referral made through the platform.

When sending a referral, you are responsible for ensuring you have appropriate consent to share the referred person's contact information.

Silver Longevity is not a party to any transaction, agreement, or relationship that results from a referral or introduction made through the platform.

8. Community Board and Resource Library

By posting content on the community board or submitting resources to the resource library, you grant Silver Longevity a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your content on the website for as long as it remains posted.

You retain ownership of your content and may delete your posts or request removal of your resources at any time.

Content must not include hate speech, discriminatory language, or personal attacks; spam, unsolicited advertising, or promotional content unrelated to the aging services community; confidential information about clients, patients, or other individuals without their consent; false or misleading claims about products, services, or other members; or content that violates any applicable law.

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these guidelines and to suspend or terminate the accounts of repeat violators.

9. Find Help Service

Our Find Help service connects families and caregivers with professionals in our network. This is a free service provided as a community resource.

Silver Longevity is not a healthcare provider, care coordinator, or licensed referral service. The connections we facilitate are based on our knowledge of our member network, not clinical assessment.

We make no guarantees about the availability, suitability, qualifications, or quality of services provided by any member we connect you with. We strongly encourage you to verify credentials, check references, and conduct your own due diligence before engaging any service provider.

In urgent or emergency situations, contact 911 or Alberta Health Link at 811. For community and social services, contact 211.

10. Events

Silver Longevity hosts and promotes events including networking sessions, workshops, and educational programs. Event details, pricing, and availability are listed on our Events page and are subject to change.

Event registration may be subject to additional terms or cancellation policies as specified for each event.

11. Intellectual Property

The Silver Longevity name, logo, pinwheel motif, and website design are the property of the Silver Longevity Business Association. You may not use our branding without prior written permission, except for the SLBA member badge provided to active members for display on their own websites and marketing materials.

Members who are granted use of the SLBA member badge must remove it promptly if their membership ends.

12. Limitation of Liability

Silver Longevity is a networking and referral community, not a provider of professional services. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the website or services, including any interactions, referrals, introductions, or business relationships facilitated through the platform.
• We are not responsible for the actions, omissions, quality of services, or conduct of any member or professional in our network.
• We do not verify the professional credentials, licensing, insurance, or qualifications of our members beyond the information they provide to us.
• Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the website is limited to the amount you paid in membership fees in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

The website and services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Silver Longevity, its officers, directors, and volunteers harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the website, your content, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of another person.

15. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at hello@slba.ca.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in conduct harmful to the community, or fail to pay applicable membership fees.

Upon termination, your directory listing will be unpublished, your access to members-only features will end, and your account data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

16. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these terms will be resolved in the courts of Alberta.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. If we make significant changes, we will notify members by email or through a notice on the website. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
